LIGHTCRAFT GO FULL HEART-ON-SLEEVE WITH “GIVE YOU ALL”

Jakarta-based anthemic-pop trio lightcraft is back with “Give You All”, their second new single of 2025 and a striking step forward in their ever-evolving sound. Set for release on May 14, 2025, the song marks a significant point in the band’s musical journey, leading to an EP later this year. Suppose you are looking for a love song that resembles a slow-motion movie montage and a rollercoaster drop simultaneously. In that case, this one has got you covered.

Cinematic and emotionally charged, “Give You All” is a love song built on thunderous Phil Collins-style drums, swirling guitars, and sweeping melodies, all wrapped in a glossy, modern pop finish. Inspired by the timeless spirit of Jon Secada’s “Just Another Day” and Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”, the track blends nostalgic ’80s and ’90s pop with lightcraft’s signature anthemic energy. “Many acts from that era have always influenced us.

However, with our new direction, we found ourselves in a bit of a struggle. We were torn oncapturing the essence of these acts in our music. It was a year-long journey, but the result was worth every moment,” says guitarist Fari Febrian.

Refreshing twists abound across the track, showcasing the band’s unwavering confidence and boundless creativity nearly two decades into their career.

Lyrically, “Give You All” is about loving fearlessly, even when you are at your mostvulnerable. It tells the story of someone who has been emotionally weathered but refuses to give up on love, offering all they have left in the hope that it is enough. It is a bold, open- hearted declaration that sometimes, love is worth the risk. “Love is a significant part of our band’s story. I often write about my experiences with love, whether the excitement of falling in love or the intensity of being in love. I tend to dive in headfirst, giving it my all, and see where it takes me. It might be reckless, but love truly does make the world go round!” vocalist Imam Surataruna shares.

The song was co-produced and mixed by John Mullane, frontman of seminal Canadian indie-rock band In-Flight Safety, who now also works as a producer under the moniker Future Dad. For lightcraft – who working with John was a full-circle moment – In-Flight Safety had greatly influenced the band during their university days, and a chance meeting at Canadian Music Week 2015 sparked a long-lasting friendship that has now blossomed into this dream collaboration. “Working with John was a dream come true for us. He’s a musical hero of ours, and when he expressed his love for our demo and his willingness to collaborate, we were over the moon. We couldn’t wait to see what we could create together,” keyboardist Enrico Prabowo recalls. Meanwhile, mastering duties were handled by Perth-based engineer Li Heng Chan in Australia.

The photograph used for the cover artwork for “Give You All” was shot by Ruang Creative founder Glendy Elbricts, capturing the essence of longing and vulnerability through a lens of quiet intimacy and cinematic drama. Glendy also handled the band’s latest press photos.

The music video for “Give You All” is a visual slow burn that mirrors the song’s emotional intensity. Directed by long-time collaborator Reksa Fajar, the video stars the effortlessly magnetic Syifa Mahala in a stunning one-woman performance. Shot entirely at Soundhead Studio, the video leans into mood, motion, and memory to bring the song’s emotional highs and lows to life. Syifa’s portrayal captures the ache of longing and the quiet strength in vulnerability, making the video not just a companion to the song, but an extension of its soul.
