Two musical acts from Indonesia, each with their own distinct style and genre, unite in a special collaborative performance, proudly representing their homeland at one of Asia’s most prestigious international music award events — the Golden Melody Awards in Taiwan on June 25. Annisya, an R&B/Hip-hop artist from Jakarta who released her debut EP Femme Fatale last year, is known for her bold rap-singing style. She joins forces with the phenomenal trio Song Brothers — Samuel Song (bass), Josafat Song (drums), and Abraham Song (guitar) — whose performances are known for their tightness, dynamic expression, and deep roots in jazz, funk, and soul.
Together, they present a multi-genre performance that delivers a full experience. As part of the new generation, they introduce a fresh and unique sound collaboration that offers a new perspective from the Indonesian music scene to an international audience. This performance is presented under the support and banner of Sould Out Records, with Annisya and the Song Brothers proudly representing the label as its debut artists. They are also joined on stage by two rising Indonesian musicians: Rio Siahaan on keyboards and Vermal on trumpet.
The Golden Melody Awards (GMA) is an annual music award show held in Taiwan since 1990, widely regarded as the most prestigious music award in the region — often referred to as the “Grammys of Asian music.” Annisya x Song Brothers mark a milestone as the first Indonesian musicians to ever perform at
this award event, joining two other international acts as part of the GMA’s 3-day music festival.
